Waiver / Agreement E-Sign
A digitally signed service agreement or liability waiver that clients complete online before service — covering risks, policies, and consent — stored electronically and enforceable, replacing paper forms at drop-off.
A waiver or service agreement is the contract a client signs before a pet-care business accepts their animal. It typically covers liability for injury or illness, consent for emergency veterinary care and its cost, behavior and vaccination requirements, photo/marketing permission, and the business's cancellation and payment policies. E-sign means the client completes and signs it electronically rather than on paper.
For the business this is essential legal protection. Pet care carries real risk — bites, escapes, illness spread in group settings — and a signed, dated agreement is the first line of defense in a dispute or insurance claim. Collecting it digitally also removes friction: instead of a clipboard at a hectic drop-off, the client signs online during booking or at the meet-and-greet.
In software, waivers are usually part of the onboarding or booking flow. The system can require a signed, current agreement before a booking is confirmed, store the signed document (with a timestamp and the version signed) on the client's record, and re-request a signature when the terms are updated or the agreement expires annually. Some platforms support per-service waivers — for example, a separate sedation-free-handling consent for grooming difficult pets.
Electronic signatures are legally recognized in most jurisdictions, so a properly captured e-signed waiver is as enforceable as ink on paper, while being far easier to store and retrieve.
